Course on Maritime Safety
This course is designed for all sailors, from beginners to experienced ones, who wish to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to ensure safety on board in any situation. Conducted at our facilities and on our vessels, the course covers both theory and practice to prepare participants for various emergency situations.
Duration: 3 hours of theory and 5 hours of practice.
Theoretical Content:
- Fundamentals of maritime safety: principles and regulations
- Mandatory safety equipment and its proper use
- Emergency procedures: fires, flooding, man overboard
- Basic first aid on board
- Safety planning before setting sail
- Emergency communication: use of VHF and other systems
- Navigation in adverse conditions: waves, storms, and strong winds
- International regulations for preventing collisions (COLREGs)
Practical Content:
- Evacuation drills and use of liferafts
- Man overboard exercises: recovery and first aid
- Use of fire extinguishers and onboard firefighting
- First aid practices at sea
- Handling flares and distress signals
- Use of personal safety equipment: life jackets, harnesses
- Emergency communication practices: distress calls and mayday
- Simulated navigation in adverse conditions
